Good day to all of my wonderful friends and family! This week has been great! Christmas time on a mission is the best! Plus, the Elgin ward loves the missionaries and we have been invited to tons of gatherings, it’s great!
We had our Christmas Zone Conference this week, which was the best Zone Conference I’ve been to. Each district put together a song, skit, or video to share and most of them were hilarious! One district did a skit about getting the i-pads, it was great! We also watched the movie “Ephriam’s Rescue” which is AMAZING! My companion had pernission to watch it on Halloween so we had already seen it but seeing it again, with about 70 other missionaries was wonderful. And here for the zone conferences the Relief Society makes a meal for all the missionaries and man was it delicious! Our ward was in charge of the meet and they made so much ham, it was so good. People out here can cook! Which reminds me, have any of you had shrimp and grits? Not instant grits but real grits? So good. Anyway, Conference was great! We were able to meet with President Holm for a little while as well, it was great. He gave both my companion and I blessings, it was beautiful. It’s not everyday where you get a blessing from your mission president.
Things are going well here in the Elgin ward, I love Lugoff, and I know that miracles are out there waiting for us to find them. Speaking of miracles, there in a girl in Grr that we were teaching, RB. She has been learning about the church for about 5 years and her boyfriend is on a mission right now in South America….well, she is getting baptized this weekend. So we have two baptisms here and one in Grr!!! And the Elders in our ward had a baptism this past Saturday. It’s great!
The weather has been…odd. Just the other day it was like 82 degrees. That is too warm for it to be almost Christmas. And today, it is pouring! Just thought y’all should hear how the weather is.
I hope y’all have a safe and Merry Christmas! I love you and I love being a missionary! Enjoy the time you have with your family, I know I will!
